We often need volunteers to assist with our general administration and our main Reception.
Volunteering in the Hospice means you’ll be working closely with a team of passionate and dedicated people who are working hard to make a difference. Your support is invaluable because you’ll be helping to keep the department you are supporting functioning and working efficiently.
What role do our admin volunteers do?
We have wide variety of admin roles to ensure the support systems for the Hospice run as smoothly as possible. However you will always work with the same team and department carrying out admin tasks for them so you will always have support and a friendly face.
What skills do I need?
You will need some basic office and admin skills. For some roles you will need more exacting skills such as
- IT/ keyboard skills
- Working with spreadsheets
- Experience of data inputting with a database
- Telephone and customer service skills
How much time do I need to give?
A volunteering session is usually 3 to 4 hours, and volunteers will usually work one or two sessions a week. We find that most people like to have a regular time session on the rota as it helps them to plan their social time and of course it helps us when we are planning our weekly scheduling.
Where will I be based?
Our admin/reception volunteers are based at the Hospice in Backford
