Access to and use of this site is provided by the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is a registered Charity – number 515516. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is also registered with the Information Commissioner in the UK as a Data Controller (registration number Z5315544), and is legally bound by the Data Protection Act 2018, and UK General Data Protection Regulation 2021 (GDPR). The Hospice of the Good Shepherd respects privacy, and the following privacy policy outlines how your information will be used by the Hospice.

Personal Information

Personal information is anything which enables the Hospice to identify you in some way, such as name, postal address, date of birth, and an email address. If such information is supplied, the Hospice is legally bound by the Data Protection Act and UK GDPR, to ensure that the information is used only for the purpose for which it was requested, and to ensure that the data is held securely.

The data gathered will be used to keep service users and supporters informed of the future work of the Hospice. Data will only be shared with third party organisations, where there is a lawful basis to do so. Data will NEVER be sold for marketing or any other purpose.

Financial Information

When an online donation is processed, the Hospice links to a number service providers who act as our agents to collect and process on-line donations on our behalf.

We use GiveTap to capture on line donations via the website. Funds donated this way are transferred directly into the Hospice bank account weekly.

Our on-line shop uses Stripe to process transactions and the funds are transferred to the hospice bank account weekly.
Payment to our Hospice Lottery are made via Secure Collections. These funds are transferred to the hospice bank account on 3rd and the 18th of the month.

We use JustGiving for online fundraising for our supporters. You can also make a direct donation to the hospice via this method. These funds are transferred to the hospice monthly.

No credit/debit card details are stored by the Hospice. Your name, address and donation amount details are passed to us to provide acknowledgement to the donor and will be stored on our database. We also collect your email address; however, we will not send you marketing information via email unless you opted in for this. Refunds for donations made online can be done by contacting the Hospice.

Hospice Mailing List

By ticking the relevant box, or advising the Hospice in writing, service users and individual donors may opt out of receiving information about the work of the Hospice.

The Hospice may use the personal information provided to contact service users/donors in the future about the work of the charity but the Hospice will NOT share this information with any third party.
