The Hospice of the Good Shepherd has a new corporate fundraising manager to develop and deliver a robust strategy for the future.
Abi Smith joined the hospice in February from her previous role as CEO at the Railway Benefit Fund, where she was responsible for raising the profile and income for the charity. She also led the Cheshire fundraising programme for Claire House for over nine years.
Bike Chester will be taking place this year on Saturday, June 25 and people are being urged to take up the cycle challenge and raise money for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd which has been nominated as the event’s official charity.
Hospice are able to purchase new van thanks to generous donations from members of the community.

Assistant Provincial Grand Master Worshipful Brother George Mann was accompanied by Colin Ross the Provincial Charity Steward and Derek Brook the Provincial Communications Officer they brought with them a donation of £10,000 from the Cheshire Freemason’s Charity to assist the Hospice in its ongoing developments.
Members of the team at Sanctuary365 have pulled together to raise funds for a special cause that’s very close to their hearts. The hospice, based in Backford near Chester, provides free-of-charge palliative care to patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses across Cheshire West and Deeside.
Over the coming 12 months, Jackson Fire & Security will raise funds for the charity, which relies on £2.5 million annual donations in order to offer it’s services to local people. Six members of the team at Jackson Fire & Security took part in the hospice’s Colour Fun Run this year, which raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.
