Emma Mayer plans to shave her hair off for Charity!
Emma Mayers will be shaving her hair off in aid of a number of local charities on September 17th. Amy’s Craft Artcade will also be doing a Fun Day around her sponsored head shave in order to help raise donations. In Emma’s own words, this is why she is doing it……….
“The reason for me wanting to do the sponsored head shave is because I’ve seen so many people affected in one way or another by cancer and heart disease over the last few years, but this year even more so!! Not only have loads of celebrities lost their lives to cancer but also people close to our community, from the beautiful little girl called Lacey-Mae to a lovely young lady called Jenny Clibery who recently lost her battle too!! I also helped out at a fundraising day for the brave and adorable Erin Cross who is now able to travel to Seattle for her Car T Cell therapy!! It was amazing to see everyone come together to help raise money for her!!
The reason I’ve chosen the hospice as one of the charities is because in the past they looked after my lovely Aunty Lynne Pritchard at the end of her days and my husbands Grandad George Mayers.
My husband Ian and I, along with my sister Denise decided to open an art & craft shop recently. Whilst we were redecorating it we were told Ian’s Nan Amy didn’t have long to live, we were all devastated by the news and as a tribute to her we decided to name the shop after her – Amy’s Craft Artcade – we took loads of photographs to show her and designed the logo, she was so made up we named it after her. We sadly lost her (to cancer & other health problems) on September 16th 2015. An incredibly hard and devastating time for us all (I’m doing the head shave in her memory). When we opened our shop on December 5th we did it as a fundraising day and donated the money to the hospice in Nan’s memory”
