Hospice of the Good Shepherd hands over the keys to car raffle winner!
The winner of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd Škoda Citigo car raffle was presented with the keys to drive away a brand new Skoda Citigo by Margaret Wright, Hospice of the Good Shepherd Chief Executive.
Jonathon Parker, who lives in Crewe, said: “I’d bought some tickets whilst Christmas shopping at Cheshire Oaks and you never think you’re going to win. When I got a phone call from the Hospice advising that I was the winner I couldn’t believe it! We’ve never won anything like this before.”
The car raffle, kindly supported by Mitchell Group generated over £30,000 of income which will be used to support local people with a life limiting illness.
Ian Wilde from the Mitchel group said : “ We are delighted to have been able to support the Hospice with this initiative and are delighted with the results. All credit goes to the volunteers, whom without their involvement this simply couldn’t happen”
Ian Jones, Lottery Manager at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd said “A big thank you goes to everyone who helped to support the hospice by promoting the raffle, selling tickets and of course buying tickets. The money raised will make a real difference to those facing life-shortening conditions such as cancer, heart failure and motor neurone disease – providing comfort and care for them and their families.”
