How will this work?

Example of guided relaxation
This is a technique to aid relaxation, relieve stress and tension, aid sleep and reduce feeling of anxiety. This can take place over the telephone on one to one basis or via a group zoom session.

How do I access this service?

Patients and carers are already referred to the hospice via GP, Macmillan nurses, specialist nurses and this will continue. Referrals will then be telephoned and following an assessment with one of the LWC nurses will be signposted to the service that they have identified that will best meet needs.
Zoom sessions will be live and you will be sent a password to access the session.

What preparation do I need to make for any of these sessions?

Complementary therapies are first and foremost about taking time and making space for you. Time to put your needs first.
Try and find/make a quiet space where you can be comfortable and where you are unlikely to be disturbed. You may wish to lower lights, have calming soothing music in background cover yourself in cosy blanket. Whatever makes this space comfortable and feel safe for you.
