Light up a Life 2022 Book of Memories

You can view our virtual service here from Monday 5th December at 9am

Remember a loved one this Christmas…..

At the Hospice of the Good Shepherd we understand that Christmas can be a
difficult time if you are missing a loved one or someone special.

That is why each year we invite you to join with hundreds of other people to
dedicate a light on our special Hospice Christmas Trees, to honour someone you
have treasured memories of.

The person you choose to remember does not have to have been cared for at the Hospice for you to honour them. This can be anyone special to you and your family. You can dedicate a light on our special Hospice Christmas trees or dedicate your own individual 6ft Christmas tree in the Hospice garden.

You can honour someone special by choosing to dedicate a light (suggested donation of £5 per dedication) on our special Hospice Christmas tree or by dedicating your own personal illuminated 6ft tree (for £250) which will on display in the Hospice grounds.

As part of your Light up a Life dedication you will receive:

  • A Light Up A Life card sent to you with the name/s of your loved one/s (this will be posted after 21st November).
  • The name/s of your loved one/s will be entered into our Book of Memories which will be available to view online from Monday 5th December.
  • An option to purchase Light up a Life in a box for £5.00 which will include a candle, Light up a Life tree decoration, service sheet, poem, tea bag and biscuits.

We will be holding three Light Up A Life services plus an online service during
December. These services bring us together in a festival of light to remember
loved ones through poems, readings and music.
