How you can get involved

IT'S A KNOCKOUT IS COMING TO YOUR AREA

Do you remember It’s a Knockout presented by Stuart Hall?  You do, well the Hospice is hosting its own version of the show and giving employees of local companies the opportunity to become contestants.

This year’s It’s a Knockout will be held on Sunday 17th August at Vauxhalls Sports & Social Club, Rivacre, Ellesmere Port.  Organiser, Lauren Evans said” It is going to be a great fun day out for all the family whether you are taking part in the competition or just a spectator.  We are asking local businesses to use this opportunity as a team building exercise, to raise their profile and at the same time to help their local Hospice”.

The cost per team of either 8 or 10 participants is £500 and the winners and runners up will take home a special momento of the event.  Also every contestant will receive a certificate and a Hospice key ring.

If you think that your employer may be interested in the event or if you are the Director of a company looking for something different for your staff, please contact Lauren on 01244 851811 or click here to use our Online Response Form.

CHARITY OF THE YEAR ADOPTION

Companies are constantly looking for ways to support charities and it is becoming increasingly popular to raise funds for their chosen charity of the year.  This way the company can focus its efforts on local or national charities of their choice.

The Hospice has been established since 1989 and has an excellent reputation for providing specialised care to the local community.  Adopting the Hospice as your charity of the year is a wonderful way to engage employees and encourages team building.  If you decide to choose the Hospice you will be allocated a member of the Fundraising Team who will help you as much as possible, sharing fundraising ideas and building relationships with employees.

Please contact Amanda Le Bretton, Fundraising & Marketing Manager on 01244 851811 or click here to use our Online Response Form. Amanda would be delighted to come and speak to your staff and give a presentation about how you can make a difference to your local Hospice.

Some of our corporate adoptions during 2008 include Bank of America, TWA logistics, The Mortgage Business, Yorkshire Bank, Cheshire Building Society.

GIVE AS YOU EARN

GAYE enables your employees to donate a small amount of money to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd every month directly from their salary.  If your salary is under PAYE, you can donate using this method.  So a monthly donation of £5 will only cost you £3.90 but the Hospice will receive the full £5.  Please complete the GAYE form using the link below and return it to your salary department for processing.

SPONSORSHIP

The Hospice organises a full programme of events throughout the year which you could endorse through corporate sponsorship.  This will generate publicity for you and increase your brand awareness.  We also produce a bi-annual news review and Hospice calendar, also advertising campaigns and promotion materials which require ongoing sponsorship.

GIFTS IN KIND

When a company donates gifts in kind it is a huge money saving resource for the Hospice.  This means that we do not have to buy goods or services and certain items can be used to generate further funds at events.  Sainsbury’s  donated all the refreshments for our 2007 Sunrise Stroll event.

RECYCLING

If your employees are interested in recycling items of unwanted jewellery or foreign coins this can raise funds for the Hospice.  Please call Helen on 01244 851811 to arrange for the items to be collected from your premises.
