Hospice Celebrates its 18th Birthday
This year, the Hospice is celebrating 18 years of deticated service to the local community. The Duchess of Westminister visited on 23rd April to launch our special birthday by unveiling the new logo for the Hospice and cutting the cake. We all found the day uplifting.
Our coming of age is a special occasion for many reasons. Over the 18 years, advances have been made in treating patients with life limiting and progressive illnesses, yet our one great strength is to give dedicated care to the patient and their family. Our thanks go to all the staff, present and past for their fine work. We are celebrating 18 years of loyal support by the people of Chester, Ellesmere Port, Rural Cheshire and North Wales. It is their Hospice and we thank them for giving us the means to serve the local community. It is a special birthday which began on April 23rd and will continue throughout the year and will include a service of thanksgiving in Chester Cathedral on Sunday October 7th at 3.30pm.
Challenges lie ahead - we can no longer rely on the same level of support from the NHS, fundraising is very competitive, and we need £2.3 million this year to provide our service to the community. Let us work together to ensure that our coming of age leads to a great future of continued good service for many years to come.
